Ladies Guild

All women of the parish are considered members our Ladies Guild. The Ladies Guild organizes Parish dinners and parties, and earns money to help support our parish through monthly pirohi sales and other functions.

Men’s Club

All men of the parish are considered members of our Men’s Club. The Men’s Club plans various activities including our annual Mother’s Day Breakfast and grilling for our annual Church picnic. They are preparing an area to host events for all such as card games, Theology on Tap, and other get-togethers in our original St. George Center Bar area. Stay tuned!

Cantorial Group

The dedicated work of the cantor in the Byzantine Catholic Church is a key role and vocation in service to God. The cantor’s main role is assisting the priest and in leading the faithful in their worship in the prayer filled chant of the Divine Liturgy. The cantor also serves as a lector/reader with the chanting of the Epistle during Divine Liturgy prior to the reading of the Gospel. There are many occasions where the cantor is called upon to assist, for example, with funeral services, blessing of homes, and various prayer and memorial services.

Hospitality Committee

Pirohi Workers

Our dedicated pirohi workers gather together the second week of each month, October through May, to prepare for our pirohi sales which take place the second Friday of each month, October – May. Our pirohi Sale is a cherished tradition of our St. George Church and we think ours are the best!

Fundraising Committee

Our Fundraising Committee plans fundraising events such as our annual Flea Market and Ethnic Food Sales. The Flea Market takes place in June on the Friday and Saturday following Father’s Day. Our Flea Market volunteers seek donations throughout the year and begin setting up 2 weeks prior to the sale. They also prepare the Ethnic dishes and baked goods for this event to help support our Parish. Schedules are announced in the bulletin.

There is also a Rusyn Sampler Dinner being planned. Stay tuned!

Church Picnic for Beaver County Byzantines (and friends & guests): Sunday, August 17:

The annual parishes picnic on the grounds of St. George Church, will be on Sunday, August 17. St. George’s Men’s Club will once again be supplying and grilling the meats, and St. George’s Ladies Guild will be preparing the main side dishes and setting up the picnic buffet. Everyone is asked to bring (potluck) side dishes, desserts, or beverages. We are once again having the very popular basket raffle and will be accepting donations of various theme baskets. Friends of St. George Church are invited! More details to follow.
